Kugler KQ XRN: A New Dawn in Nitrogen
Interest in foliar fertilizers has risen due to multiple advantages of foliar application methods. Such as rapid and efficient response to plant needs. However, the effects of foliar fertilizer applications have not been consistent and it has been proposed that slow release fertilizer may improve this situation. Foliar - applied, slow release nitrogen has been reported to have positive effects on crops.
The term slow release or extended release is used to describe fertilizer products that release, or convert to a plant available for a long period of time, usually 8 to 12 weeks as is the case for KQ XRN. Temperature, humidity, moisture and soil microbe activity impact timing and duration.
Slow – release nitrogen (srn) fertilizers are best management practices ideally suited to the farm. Slow release materials improve nitrogen use efficiency by the plant. Slow – release materials make nitrogen available to the plant as they need it while reducing the potential for leeching.
Advantages of Slow Release nitrogen fertilizers include:
1. Reduces the leeching loss of nitrogen
2. Reduces salt damage to young plants
3. Ease of applying
4. Becomes plant available as the plant needs it
SRN fertilizers have all these advantages, then why doesn’t everyone use them? SRN has one disadvantage COST! However nitrogen use efficiency is substantially improved with a SRN fertilizer making it cost competitive.
Isotope studies have shown that the quantity of soil applied nitrogen failing to get into the crop can range from 85% in the worst case to 30% in the best. By contrast, foliar applied KQ XRN can be up to seven times better. The slow nitrogen release characteristics of KQ XRN ensure efficient uptake throughout critical stages of the growth cycle. Growth is sustained over the long term, with out surges that can adversely affect plant health and quality. Regular application of KQ XRN in low doses keeps nitrogen active in growing plants.
No salts and non-burning. There are no salts in KQ XRN, so it is extremely safe for your equipment and plants. There is no burning or phototocicity at high application rates.
KQ – XRN can be used on a wide range of crops – from feed grains to vegetables. The high quality of KQ XRN gives you confidence to combine it with other chemicals, pesticides or KQ products. XRN may be used in place of water as a carrier. XRN contains a unique property of stickiness; this insures adherence and better performance.
Kugler KQ – XRN is a liquid controlled release nitrogen product containing 28% nitrogen. 70% of this nitrogen is in the controlled release form.

Syngenta: Agri-Edge 2006 Corn Program
Syngenta is offering the following programs for the 2006 growing season. The Agri-Edge programs are set-up to reimburse growers for the technologies and traits that they do not use. The more money invested by the grower the more he can get in return. All options come with product performance assurances. All programs will be redeemed at the end of the growing season.

Flex Some Weed Control Muscle In Your Winter Wheat!
New OLYMPUS Flex Herbicide is designed to control tough grasses and a host of key broadleaf weeds in fall-sown and winter wheat varieties.
OLYMPUS Flex provides consistent control in both fall and spring postemergence applications as well as excellent rotational flexibility to key crops. It’s a powerful new player on your production team.
It is applied postemergence to give you strong residual control. It works quickly, inhibiting the growth of the following weeds. Grass Weeds: Annual/Italian ryegrass, Annual bluegrass, Bulbous/Tuber oatgrass, Cheat (True Cheat), Downy Brome, Foxtail barley, Japanese brome, Ripgut brome, Soft brome, Wild oat, and more. Broadleaf Weeds: Blue/Black mustard, Common vetch, Tansy mustard, Tumble mustard, Wild mustard, and more.
There is so much strength in OLYMPUS Flex, you might not need to tank mix. But if you do, flexible options with broadleaf herbicides allow for complete, season-long grass and broadleaf weed control, whether applied in spring or fall.
Because OLYMPUS Flex has less soil residual than current commercial products, you have more opportunity to grow the rotational crops that help you succeed.

Examples of cash flow can vary from one operation to another. Input costs such as seed, chemical, insect control, fungicide, and fertilizer programs are unique to each field, crop, and producer. This is a basic cash flow that we have compiled with information about Southwest Nebraska. As your local fertilizer, chemical, and seed supplier Top Hat wants your operation to be as economical and efficient as possible. Taking the time to put a simple cash flow together may help you make more profitable decisions.
