It’s that time of year!  Pull that pesticide or chemigation license out of your wallet or other safe keeping location.  Look at the expiration date on it to see if it is your turn to renew your license.  It just might be your lucky year of renewal!  If so, try to make one of the training dates listed or call your local extension service for a booklet.

Approximately 90 days until corn planting!  I know that doesn’t seem quite possible, especially since we just put the combines to bed.  Yet with only three months left until planting time, there are many things to get ready for the upcoming growing season.

First things first, SEED!  For those of you that still need it, we have a full line including NK, Dekalb-Asgrow, and Midwest Seed Genetics.

Many of you may be waiting to see what FERTILIZER is going to do.  Prices look like they will be very strong through spring and into early summer.  I feel the market may soften some after that, but only after the main demand is over.

CHEMICAL will most likely be the main topic over the next couple of months.  We will try to visit with each one of you on your plans for the farm so that we may position product accordingly.  We will be glad to start looking at products with you for a “Best Fit Program”, we sometimes call it “Plan A”.  This is not a plan set in stone, plans change and we will go from “Plan A” thru “Z” to find what works for you!

We also have an informational meeting coming up in February.  We will try to have several chemical representatives on hand to answer questions and give you some ideas for “Best Fit Products” on your farm.

Thanks,

Shawn
