THE SOIL REJUVENATOR: KQ HF 2412
Soil humus is a critical component in healthy plant growth, but soils that have been cultivated for an extended period of time can suffer from reduced levels of humus. This is especially true of soils that have been “mined” of their nutrient reserves. This happens when the nutrient demands of the crop outpace the fertilizer applied.
Humus has been referred to as “The most important source of human wealth on this planet”. It is a virtual storehouse of not only micro-nutrients, but also holds essential macro-nutrients, nitrogen, phosphates, and potassium. The most and biochemical active group of many decomposed products of soil organic matter is the alkali soluble substance called HUMNIC ACID or Kugler HF 2412.
Because of HF 2412 molecular structure, it provides numerous benefits to crop production:
· Natural chelating and complexing agent to help magnify nutrient absorption.
· Increase the permeability of cells to increase nutrient uptake.
· Contains an auxin-like growth stimulant that can enhance plant cell division and elongation.
· Can buffer the effects of excessive elements (particularly sodium), toxic chemicals and heavy metals.
· Neutralizes PH.
· Non-toxic-microbe friendly.
· Promotes seed germination.
· Has an affinity for iron and can increase the availability of this element in all soils.
· Will help increase the CEC of the soil.
· It will increase the holding capacity or retention ability of the soil for holding water.
HF 2412 is not a fertilizer, but instead a compliment to fertilizer. Fertilizer is a nutrient source for both plants and micro flora. HF2412 helps move these nutrients from the soil to the plant. Its benefits have been proven both experimentally and in the field.
HF 2412 can be applied to all crops. HF 2412 is compatible with most fertilizer and pesticide solutions.

Syngenta has updated this site to feature news categorized into crops, weather with growing degree days, and a farm bill calculator.
This is another Syngenta website that brings out the kid in you. Have fun clicking on items within the office to learn the latest on resistant-weed outbreaks. Click on the suitcase by the file cabinet and register to win one of fifty $100 fuel cards.
The National Agricultural Statistics Service has launched a newly redesigned website. Find all facts related to the farm including labor wages and much more.
I would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy New Year. Wherever your travels take you this holiday season may it be a happy and safe journey. As you know this year’s end is very close and I invite you to stop by Top Hat so we may discuss 2006. I understand that there is still a lot of uncertainty out there, yet we can not wait for someone to give us all the answers. Every year we have challenges we must rise above and this one will be no different.
Top Hat invites you to call or stop in for your prepay booking needs. I am available in the Benkelman office and Mike Nelson is in the Imperial office ready to service all your chemical, seed, and fertilizer needs.
Thank you for your thoughts and concerns while Shawn is ill. We appreciate your patience and understanding during his recovery as we approach booking days.
Sincerely,

AgriEdge Puts Growers in Control
Syngenta has introduced its 2006 AgriEdge Corn and Soybean programs, the most comprehensive selection ever offered for protecting crops from planting through harvest. The innovative programs comprise a full portfolio of seed, seed treatment, traits and crop protection products - along with crop-performance assurances and technical expertise - to help manage risk, control costs and maximize yields and profitability.
Corn: More Options, More Control
AgriEdge Corn provides growers with comprehensive protection from planting to harvest through state-of-the-industry risk management assurances. Growers who plant a corn hybrid with an Agrisure trait (Agrisure CB for season-long corn borer protection; GT with proven glyphosate tolerance; or GT/CB, the stacked traits) are automatically eligible for the AgriEdge Corn program.
In addition to premium genetics and assurances that come with hybrids featuring Agrisure traits, growers participating in AgriEdge Corn choose from a wide range of weed and insect management options for protection against weed escapes, pests and crop loss. AgriEdge technology reinvestments of up to $21 per acre ensure that growers only pay for the herbicide traits they use.
Soybeans: A New Way to Think
Designed to help growers break through the yield barrier, AgriEdge Soybeans features premium genetics combined with insect and disease risk management tools for protection from planting to harvest. The program encourages growers to apply a Syngenta fungicide, insecticide or seed treatment product on up to 40 acres by providing an assurance that the yield increase will offset the additional input expenses.
Now in its second year, AgriEdge Soybeans provides participating growers with production information from other soybean producers. They receive individual and aggregated trial results from participants across the country, which allows them to identify profit-optimizing practices, receive analyses of yield-impacting factors and compare their own results to national and regional data.
There is more information about AgriEdge in our October 2005 issue.
MIKE’S MEMO: The Foliar Advantage
Are you looking for an edge in crop production? Are you looking for a highly effective product with a high level of efficiency? Well look no further, come in and talk to Top Hat about CoRoN (Controlled Release Nitrogen).
CoRoN is a liquid fertilizer with true controlled release qualities. After an application of CoRoN nutrients are released over a period of weeks. This gives your crop what it needs, when it needs it. This product will not burn your crop making it an excellent tank mix companion to put with post herbicide applications like Roundup, Steadfast, and more.
Other advantages include minimal volatilization, exceptional translocation within the plant, and has a low potential for wash-off.
CoRoN is easy to use and highly effective. It feeds plants for weeks and provides a high level of fertilizer efficiency. Call Top Hat to discuss how CoRoN can maximize potential on your farm.
Happy Holidays,
Mike
